I intend for this site and Yahoo chat group to focus mainly on local paranormal history, activity and lore. However, I will also add content about the paranormal in Florida and in general that I find of interest. I chose the name First Coast Paranormal because that is the area of the country I am in (also, when I researched it online no one else was using it! lol). I have always been very interested in the paranormal, ever since I was a small child. I know that sounds weird, but truly my fascination started when my kindergarten class went to the Fenton Historical Society in NY on a field trip. Ever since then I have been completely captivated. In previous years before "Ghosts" became so popular on TV all there was were books and the occasional episode of "Unsolved Mysteries". lol In those days I read every book I could get my hands on. These days movies and television shows dealing with the paranormal abound!! I still love my books though.
I decided to start this page and to attempt to start the little chat group to accompany it after searching the web for Paranormal "groups" in the First Coast area and finding nothing that fit ME. What I did find was either defunct (with websites not updated since 02) or professional paranormal ghost hunting INCs not open for public membership. Since I will be living here and have always been drawn to this part of the state (The St. Augustine area in particular) I decided to make an attempt at creating my own group.
I am not a professional investigator or psychic or author or anything of the sort, just an interested citizen making a webpage. I would not be opposed to some independnt amateur investigation of a location at some point simply for the sake of interest, but the only equipment I have is camera equipment and even that is nothing elaborate.
